Labelling with mini name labels
Mini name labels are easy to use and can be applied to most surfaces. Place the mini label on a clean, smooth surface and wait at least 24 hours before exposing it to water. This gives the adhesive time to bond properly with the surface. The mini labels are made to the same high quality as our classic name labels and are therefore very hard-wearing and waterproof. If you apply the mini label to a clean, smooth surface (such as a water bottle), it’ll withstand 60°C dishwasher cycles.

Mini name labels are designed for the smallest of belongings that are easily misplaced in busy family life. Our customers use mini labels to mark everything from hair clips to sunglasses. Mini name labels are ideal when you have lots of little things to keep track of. Why not let the children join in and label the things they love?

How to apply mini labels
They may be small, but the application process is the same.
Before you start
- Make sure the surface is clean, dry and grease-free.
- The smoother the surface, the better the labels will stick.
- For lunchboxes or water bottles, give them a wipe with washing-up liquid first.
Stick them on
- Peel a label from the sheet, taking care not to touch the adhesive backing.
- Position it with a little space around all four sides — not right on an edge.
Make them last
- Press the label down firmly and smooth out any air bubbles.
- Wait 24 hours before exposing to water so the adhesive can cure properly.
Tip: Label everything that goes to nursery — including soft toys.
FAQs
How long should the text be?
We limit text to 11 characters so it stays clear and easy to read. For longer names, initials work well.
Can I use mini stickers on a lunchbox?
Absolutely — mini labels stick to any clean, smooth surface.
How big are the mini stickers?
About a quarter of the size of a regular name label: 15 mm wide and 6 mm tall.
Can I take them off?
Yes — lift one corner edge with a fingernail or tweezers and peel away slowly.
Will they survive a wash?
Yes. Once left to cure for 24 hours on a clean, smooth surface, they can withstand washing machine and dishwasher cycles of up to 60°C.
Are they made from safe materials?
Absolutely. Our labels are free from phthalates, BPA and PFAS. We also test our products regularly under REACH and Prop65 standards.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery via Royal Mail is free. Orders usually arrive within 2–4 working days, straight through your letterbox.
Can I have different names on the same set?
All labels in a set come with the same text. If you're labelling for siblings, initials or surnames work well. For shared items, you could use the nursery's or school's name or phone number.
Can I change my order after placing it?
We start production right away, so there's only a small window for changes. If you have an account, log in to see whether changes are still possible. Once your label has been printed, we can't undo it.

I have been ordering these for multiple years. Unfortunately the stickers are now larger than before and also I believe there are less stickers on the paper than before. Also the print was not centric.

I loved these labels. I switched to a different label company last summer because I had a discount and went back to namelabels.com because they are so much better. I love these labels for equipment and clothes. The stay on and are more flexible than the other brand so my kids don't notice them.
