The name labels are self-adhesive and can withstand both washing machine and dishwasher cycles at up to 60°C. Ideal when there’s plenty to label.

How to apply your name labels

Make sure your name labels stay put the first time. It’s quick — just follow these steps.

Before you start

The surface must be clean, dry and free from any dust or grease.
For clothing, apply the label to the synthetic care label or another smooth synthetic patch sewn into the garment. Do not apply it directly to the fabric.
For lunchboxes, water bottles or toys, wipe the surface first to remove any grease.

Apply to clothes

Find the care label inside the garment — it’s usually a smooth, synthetic patch.
Peel the name label from the sheet, taking care not to touch the adhesive backing.
Place it flat on the care label, making sure no edges fold over.
Press down firmly to remove any air bubbles.
Leave for 24 hours before washing so the adhesive can fully cure.
Once cured, the labels can handle washes up to 60°C, tumble drying and dishwasher cycles.

Apply to belongings

Make sure the lunchbox, bottle or toy is clean and dry.
Peel off the label and stick exactly where you want it.
Press down firmly and smooth out any air bubbles.
Wait 24 hours before exposing the label to water.

Tip: Keep a few extra name labels in the school bag so you always have one to hand.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery via Royal Mail is free. Orders usually arrive within 2–4 working days, straight through your letterbox.

Can I have different names on the same set?

All 120 labels in a set come with the same text. If you're labelling for siblings, initials or surnames work well. For shared items, you could use the nursery's or school's name or phone number.

Are the name labels waterproof?

Yes! Our name labels are designed to withstand washing machine and dishwasher cycles at up to 60°C. Apply them to a clean, smooth surface and leave for 24 hours before exposing the label to water.

What can I label with name labels?

Most smooth surfaces work — synthetic care labels in clothes, as well as backpacks, lunchboxes, water bottles, shoes and more. Avoid sticking them straight onto fabric or cotton care labels (they'll come off in the wash). For these items, choose our iron-on labels instead.

How big are the labels?

Each label measures 1.3 cm x 3 cm — small enough to be discreet, but big enough to read easily.

Can I take them off again?

Yes. Lift one corner with your fingernail or a pair of tweezers, then peel the label away gently.

Will they stay put inside shoes?

They will, as long as you avoid the insole — that gets the most wear. Stick them on the inside of the shoe or on the tongue instead.

Are they made from safe materials?

Absolutely. Our labels are free from phthalates, BPA and PFAS. We also test our products regularly under REACH and Prop65 standards.

Can I change my order after placing it?

We start production right away, so there's only a small window for changes. If you have an account, log in to see whether changes are still possible. Once your label has been printed, we can't undo it.

I wanted labels for my moms clothing & possessions since shes in assisted living. I ordered & received them quickly a few weeks ago, but i had set them aside. Very nice labels. Good quality and stick well. I was gifted a set up name labels by a family member in Germany when my child started Montessori and we now ordered a new batch for school. Could have ordered from Ireland but these labels are almost half price compared to any Irish or UK company I could find online and delivery from Germany to Ireland was free and fast. Highly recommend.

I’ve been using these labels for a few years now for anything of my son’s, from winter gear to water bottles and even some sports gear. I love that they’re easy to apply, stay on through truly anything, and yet somehow miraculously are easy to remove without residue or tearing if items get donated or sold. Highly recommend.

I loved these labels. I switched to a different label company last summer because I had a discount and went back to namelabels.com because they are so much better. I love these labels for equipment and clothes. The stay on and are more flexible than the other brand so my kids don't notice them.
