Permanent labelling with iron-on labels
Unlike stick-on labels, iron-ons are a permanent way of labelling textiles. They take a bit of getting used to at first, but once you’ve got the knack it’s a breeze! Iron-on labels go straight onto the garment — just make sure the textile can handle the iron’s heat, and always use a sheet of greaseproof paper as a buffer. Be gentle with delicate fabrics and try a small test area first.

How to apply iron-on labels
A few minutes with the iron and your kit’s labelled for life. Here’s how to make sure they stick first time.
Before you start
Make sure the garment is clean and bone dry.
Use a flat, heat-resistant surface — an ironing board is ideal.
Best on cotton, polyester and blends. For delicate fabrics, do a heat test on a hidden patch first.
Apply to clothes
Heat the iron to high (no steam).
Peel a label off the sheet and place it on a flat area of the garment.
Cover with a piece of baking paper.
Press the iron down firmly for 10–15 seconds. Different irons run hotter or cooler — if it doesn’t take first time, give it another go.
Let it cool for a couple of minutes before touching.
Done right, you shouldn’t be able to feel any edges, and the fabric weave should still show through.
Make them last
Wait 24 hours before the first wash.
Wash on a gentle cycle.
If an edge ever lifts, just iron over it again for a few seconds.
Tip: Don’t forget to label the socks!
FAQs
How are the iron-on labels used?
With the heat of an iron. Different irons run differently, but in general use full heat with no steam. Always place a piece of baking paper between the label and the iron, and move the iron around as you press down. Once it's cooled, you should see the label has bonded into the fabric.
Should I choose iron-on labels or stick-on labels?
Both make a great combination. If you want to be ready for everything, the combo pack covers it. If you're picking just one: stick-on for clothes with a synthetic care label, plus lunchboxes, bottles and the like; iron-on for clothes without a care label, like socks, woollens and homemade knits.
Can I label homemade knitted items with iron-on labels?
Yes! Homemade garments vary a lot depending on the wool and stitch size, so you may need to feel your way a bit. Always cover the ironing board with baking paper to protect the garment.
Can I label socks?
Absolutely — iron-on labels are made for socks, wool and anything without a care label. Stick them on the part with the least stretch so they're not pulled. Machine washable to 60°C and tumble dryer safe.
Can I take them off again?
They're meant to be permanent, so removal is fiddly. Things to try: iron over the label with steam to soften the adhesive, then lift with tweezers. A coffee filter under the iron can absorb the adhesive too. Adhesive remover, rubbing alcohol and stain remover can also help.
How long is delivery?
Free postage, typically 2-4 working days, straight to your letterbox.
Are they made from safe materials?
Free from phthalates, BPA and PFAS. Tested regularly under REACH and Prop65.
Can I change my order later?
We start production immediately, so there's only a small window where we can change a product. If you have a user account you can log in to see whether it's possible to change the product. After the labels have been produced, we unfortunately cannot make any changes.

Customer service was unhelpful. I accidentally placed a wrong order, so I placed another order immediately with the right item. So I had two orders. It was the weekend, and I contacted customer service first thing on Monday morning (9:30am, their opening time) to cancel the wrong order. They said the wrong order cannot be cancelled, however if I made a mistake with the name, I can send them an email with the correct name on the same day. This clearly shows the labels had not been printed by then. Still, this company would not let you cancel the wrong order. Now I am left with two orders, and too many labels. They didn’t care, they just want to take your money.
